When are academic advising drop-ins offered?
Fall 2025 drop-ins for academic advising will be offered Monday-Friday from 2-4pm in-person in 105 Lind Hall. Mondays will also offer drop-ins virtually on Zoom from 2-4pm.
Drop-in advising will start on the first day of class, September 2nd, and end on December 18th. There will be no drop in advising on September 5th, November 27th, and November 28th
Start of the semester extended drop-in hours: September 2nd and September 3rd from 8:15 am to 4 pm.
What can I accomplish during academic advising drop-ins?
Drop-ins are where you can have five to ten minute meetings with an on-duty CSE college academic advisor to discuss topics including, but not limited to:
- Reviewing your APAS
- Questions about connecting with resources
- Questions about liberal education requirements
- Discussing academic policy questions
- Withdrawing from a course or using your One-Time-Only Late Withdrawal
How can I access academic advising drop-ins?
You can find more information about academic advising drop-ins on our webpage, including the Zoom link for joining remote drop-in advising on Mondays. For in person advising Mondays-Fridays, students should check-in at the front desk in 105 Lind Hall. Students should check-in by 3:45pm at the latest in order to meet with an academic advisor that day.
Can I get my OA/DS/any other hold removed during drop-in advising?
No, lower division students must meet with their assigned college advisor for a required registration meeting to have their OA hold removed. Upper division students must meet with their departmental advisor to have their DS hold removed. For any other hold, please review the type of hold in MyU and follow the included instructions on how to have it removed.
