Building community throughout your college experience

We want your college experience to be fulfilling both inside and outside of the classroom. This blog post highlights the wide variety opportunities for involvement and community building throughout your CSE experience.

There there are many options for getting involved in CSE and across the university. Consider joining one of CSE's 90+ student groups or one of the U's 1,000+ student groups or organizations. You can learn more about different groups by attending the Activities Fairs in the fall and spring or explore the student group directory on GopherLink. Students may choose to join a student group at any point in their undergraduate career.

Enjoy being active? Check out the U's intramural sports offerings or sport clubsSome options are competitive, and some are more instructional based.

If you're living off campus, check out the U's commuter resources.

Looking for community based on shared identities or experiences? The U has a wide variety of affinity spaces including the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life, the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE), the Circle of Indigenous Nations (COIN), First Generation at the U of M, and several Cultural Centers located in the Union.

Are you an international student? International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) offers numerous opportunities for community building.
