Academic Advising: The value of engagement

The value of engagement

Getting involved (or "engaging") on campus offers opportunities to explore your interests, develop leadership skills, build your resume, and meet students outside of the classroom. To help you get started, the CSE Academic Advising team has put together a list of engagement related resources.
Have you ever wondered why your academic advisor asks what you are doing to get involved on campus? You might think, "What does this have to do with my academics?"

As it turns out, being involved has a lot to do with it!

Students who connect with the University of Minnesota community are much more likely to enjoy their experience and graduate.

Getting involved (or "engaging") also offers excellent opportunities to explore your interests, develop leadership skills, build your resume, and meet other students outside of the classroom.

To help you get started, the CSE Academic Advising team has put together a list of engagement related resources.
