Academic Advising: Welcome back! Fall semester reminders and information

Welcome back! Fall semester reminders and information

Welcome to campus! We know you have a lot on your mind, which is why we thought we would help you out by providing some important Fall advising information and reminders!
The CSE Academic Advising team is excited to welcome you to campus for Fall semester! The next couple of weeks are going to be busy, which is why we thought we'd make your life a little easier with some helpful advising information and reminders!

Pre-major students who were admitted as freshman this Fall will be required to meet with their advisor for a one-on-one advising appointment. During this appointment you will discuss how things are going, majors you are considering, and the courses you are interested in taking Spring semester. This appointment is required in order to have your registration hold lifted.

Continuing pre-major students will be invited to group registration workshops. Important topicswhich include how to apply to your major, leadership and engagement opportunities, and CSE Career Center resourceswill be discussed. After attending a workshop, your registration hold for spring will be lifted.

You will receive email reminders asking you to schedule an appointment or group registration workshop. Appointments and workshops fill quickly, so it is important to be mindful and sign up immediately when you receive the email, which will be sent late September.

If you have already been admitted to your major, you will need to connect directly with your academic department for course planning and registration questions.

Keep in mind that we offer drop-in advising Monday through Friday from 2-4 p.m. in Lind Hall, Suite 105. Drop-in advising is available to help you answer quick (5-10 minute) general questions. If your question can't be fully addressed, you may be asked to schedule a full appointment with your assigned advisor.

We hope you find this information helpful, and we are looking forward to a fantastic semester with you!
